Many Africans are at risk of food insecurity as a result of the crisis, according to the United Nations report. It is important to prioritize the agriculture sector by making it an essential sector which should not be disturbed by measures related to COVID-19. There is a need to establish food corridors and support farmers to ensure uninterrupted supply and food security. Efforts should be concentrated on the regions and populations most at risk. This involves strengthening social protection systems and preserving access to food and nutrition for the most vulnerable groups, young children, pregnant and lactating women, the elderly and other groups. at risk.
